In the fall of 2024, as I was getting ready to share another bedtime story with my four-year-old son, Ezra, he interrupted me and asked me to tell him a story about… Bebop. “Who and what is Bebop?” I asked. I had no idea what he was talking about or where he got the name from. Neither did my son. And so, over the next year, we discovered our little lizard friend together.

What began as a set of silly, spontaneous stories with no objective other than helping my son relax before bed has become one of the most effective ways he has learned about himself, others, and the world around him. From “unavoidable owies” to the dangers of “careless courage,” Bebop has helped my son see and think about his life in a way that enables him to live it well. My hope is that Bebop will do the same for children across the globe.
